🔹 What You’ll Need:
-
Frozen pork buns (direct from freezer, no need to thaw)

A steamer (bamboo, metal, or electric)
-
Baking paper or cabbage leaves (to prevent sticking)
-
Pot with water (if not using an electric steamer)
🔹 Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare your steamer
Fill the bottom pot with water (but not touching the steamer tray). Bring it to a gentle boil. -
Line the steamer
Place a small square of baking paper under each bun or use cabbage leaves to stop them from sticking. -
Place the frozen buns inside
Make sure they are not touching each other, they will expand while steaming. -
Steam with lid on
-
Steam on medium-high heat
-
Pork Buns: Steam for 12–15 minutes
-
Red Bean Buns: Steam for 10–12 minutes
-
-
Check before serving
Make sure the centre is piping hot. You can use a chopstick or knife to poke in and check the heat. -
Turn off heat & rest for 1–2 minutes
This helps prevent the bun from collapsing when you open the lid.
🔹 Optional Tips:
-
Don't open the lid too early — it’ll let the steam escape and affect texture.
-
If reheating in a microwave, always cover with a damp paper towel and heat for 1–2 minutes.
